Description
A powered sit-to-stand lifter pairs the same sit-to-stand mechanics with a battery-powered actuator, so the patient still does part of the work — bracing their knees and holding on — while an electric sit-to-stand lift rental does the actual lifting instead of a caregiver working a hand pump. Global Medicals rents this powered tier across Nassau and Suffolk Counties for $215 per week or $450 per month, plus a one-time $100 delivery and pickup fee.
The transfer sequence is the same as the manual version — feet on the footplate, knees against the pad, hands on the grips — but the caregiver operates a simple up/down control instead of pumping a lever, which makes a real difference for repeated transfers throughout the day, or when the caregiver has limited hand or arm strength.
This tier suits the same candidate profile as the manual sit-to-stand lift: patients who can bear some weight on their legs and can follow instructions during the movement. It’s frequently chosen by families managing multiple daily transfers — morning routine, meals, and bathroom visits — where the cumulative physical toll of a manual pump adds up over a full day.
A standing/transfer sling is required and, as with every Global Medicals lift, is sized to the patient and rented or purchased separately. The rechargeable battery should be charged between uses to keep the lift ready for the next transfer.
Every rental arrives sanitized and tested, with delivery including setup and a hands-on walkthrough of the controls for whoever will be operating it day to day. Reserve online or call (516) 781-7000 for delivery across Nassau or Suffolk County.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a rental be extended if I need the lift longer than planned?
Yes — contact Global Medicals before your current rental term ends to extend it. If equipment isn’t returned or extended by the end of the term, rental charges continue to accrue at the applicable rate.
What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?
Cancellations made with reasonable advance notice aren’t charged a fee. Cancellations made shortly before the scheduled delivery, or a refused or failed delivery, are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
